Fiji police have raided their own headquarters in Suva over the alleged involvement of senior officers in the 13 million US dollar agriculture ministry scam.

The Daily Post reports that the assistant commissioner of police, Moses Driver, has confirmed the raid.

He is quoted as saying the raid was led by the Serious Fraud Squad in an attempt to investigate senior officers allegedly involved in the scam.

Mr Driver would not give details but said it was part of the process to investigate the scam.

Recent reports have said that police are closing in on politicians, cabinet ministers, public servants and business people involved in the scam and are expected to lay charges this year.
