The acting Chief Executive of Vanuatu's domestic carrier says getting an International Aircraft Operations Certificate has vindicated the airline from recent criticism of its services.
Meto Nganga says the certificate, awarded by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vanuatu, means Vanair's planes are now of the same safety standard as most international aircraft.
Mr Nganga says criticism mainly related to the state of the Vanuatu economy wherein people have found it hard to travel, as well as occasional schedule changes and seating problems.
He says the Operations certificate puts Vanair back on an even playing field.
"But in terms of what we are achieving with our certification it just means that we can offer our passengers a service that they can trust, that is safe and we are operating at engineering and flight standards that are of international standard"
