The Fiji Labour party is demanding much more consultation over who goes in to the multi-party cabinet.
Spokesperson, Lekh Ram Vyashnoi, says Labour as a party has also decided that its leader, Mahendra Chaudhry, should determine who is on the list.
Mr Vyashnoi was speaking after the prime minister, Laisenia Qarase, released a list of 14 Labour MPs which did not include the Labour leader or several other senior MPs.
Mr Vyashnoi says they've now informed Mr Qarase that the Labour party has taken a collective decision that Mr Chaudhry will have the final say on who is on the list.
"We are disappointed and equally disappointed are the 14 members who have been named, and they have agreed to respond to the Prime Minister in writing their dissatisfaction and the embarrassment that has been caused by his announcement without consulting."
The constitution states that it is the prime minister who will decide on who makes up the cabinet.
But, Mr Vyashnoi says there are also provisions that consultations must be held.
