American Samoa's Governor, Togiola Tulafono, says Aloha Airlines intends to begin flights between Honolulu and Pago Pago in early December.
The propose service will run from Hawaii to American Samoa and on to the Cook Islands.
At present the airline flies weekly between Honolulu and the Cook Islands.
Governor Togiola has been in negotiations with the carrier for several months.
He said the airline is also tentatively looking at flying between Tutuila and Manu'a.
