No reports of damage from PNG earthquake

Authorities in the Papua New Guinea province of Morobe are trying to determine the full extent of an earthquake that hit the northeastern Huon Peninsula near Sialum on Wednesday.

The earthquake measured 6-POINT-2 on the richter scale at a depth of between 30 and 40 kilometres.

The director of the Morobe Disaster Office, Linus Miria, says they will await further reports but as yet there have been no reports of damage.
