Solomons minister in court over traffic offences

The Solomon Islands Minister for Communication, Aviation and Meteorologly, Daniel Fa'afunua, has received a four month suspended prison sentence, been fined 130 US dollars and had his driving license suspended for a year after pleading guilty to four traffic related offences.

The minister appeared in court to answer the charges.

Fa'afunua originally faced five charges after police apprehended him in August.

He was charged with careless driving, drink driving, speeding, driving an unlicensed vehicle and refusing a police direction to stop.

The drink driving charge was dropped
