The Fiji-based Pacific Concerns Resource Centre says any review of the Pacific Islands Forum secretariat has to be wide reaching and involve all sectors of the community. .
The Forum leaders decided at their summit in Auckland in August to review the Forum to determine whether it is doing the job it is meant to be doing.
An Eminent Persons Group, which includes prominent former leaders, all male and all in their sixties, was announced this week.
The PCRC's director Hilda Lini says a review is vital, but she says women and young people should be involved.
"They are all like elders and senior people from the Pacific. That's where the concern is. If you are looking at reviewing an organisation that we always believe is ours then there should be views and visions expressed by women and the young people."
