The outgoing secretary general of the Pacific Islands Forum says the review of the organisation should consider a streamlining of all agencies serving the region.
Noel Levi is to meet the Eminent Persons Group in Suva on Monday as it gathers views for a report to be given to the current Forum chair, New Zealand's prime minister Helen Clark.
The Group consists of five people from five countries.
Mr Levi says the review is timely.
"I hope that this review will pick up from where the region was in the 1980s when it was looking at the idea of a single regional organisation. So I think there is scope for this review to have a look at the idea again."
