Bank robbers in the Cook Islands have failed in their bid to burgle the ANZ last weekend after breaking into the bank's offices in Avarua.
The Cook Islands News says the would-be thieves left empty handed after gaining entry to the bank by smashing a window because cash and computer equipment were safely locked away.
The offices of the Toursim Corporation were also targetted, but the offenders could not break in.
