Saipan University has been given a month to get its house in order and satisfy complaints of fraud raised by Chinese students.

The Saipan Tribune says the Chinese students arrived in batches starting in September to sign up for the university's English as a second language programme.

Each paid 3500 US dollars for a semester but many of them said they were disappointed to learn that they cannot work in Saipan as promised by the university recruiters.

They have demanded a refund of their tuition and other miscellaneous fees.
