Air Tahiti Nui cabin staff threaten strike

4:55 pm on 8 December 2003

Negotiations are being held in French Polynesia to avert a strike by cabin crew of Air Tahiti Nui.

60 staff who belong to the SPNC/ATN union have vowed to walk off their job on Thursday if talks about better working conditions fail.

According to the Tahitipresse news agency, the carrier's management has already said this will not affect its flights.

The dispute comes amid a warning by the Tahiti-based crew of Air France that they are set to begin an unlimited strike on January the 17th.
