New Caledonian police have found 4300 cannabis plants in the territory's biggest seizure ever.
Backed by 25 soldiers, they seized 1700 kilos of cannabis plants in a secret plantation in Nakety.
Two people suspected of planting the crop are now wanted by police.
The Nouvelles Caledoniennes says the drugs, which have a street value of about 300-thousand US dollars, were mostly burned by police in Canala.
Some of the cannabis was kept as evidence.
