The Marshall islands Chief Electoral Officer, Hemly Benjamin, says votes in the tied election result from Ailinglaplap atoll will be recounted.
There will aslo be a recount in one mayoral election where only one vote seperated the two candidates.
Mr Benjamin has rejected petitions for recounts by five other unsuccessful parliamentary candidates and two local council candidates.
If the Ailinglaplap result remains tied at the end of the recount, the winner will be decided by drawing straws.
