Police in Solomon Islands have arrested a man in connection with an incident during the ethnic tension when the police armoury in Auki on Malaita was raided.
Reports say the man is accused of disrupting telecommunications between Honiara and Malaita to allow armed men to rob the armoury and escape without detection.
The robbery was widely seen as a key development in the arming of the Malaitan militia which overthrew the government in June 2000.
The arrested man has not been named.
Reports say he was recognised by a police officer in Honiara and seized with the help of the public after a chase.
