Airports Fiji Limited is reviewing landing and other charges at international and domestic airports in the country.
The Daily Post reports that the state-owned company collected only 9.3 million US dollars from such charges in 2002, when the potential income 13.3 million.
The newspaper reveals that international airlines landing large jumbo jets at Nadi are paying only 2,500 US dollars, or only about half the charges levies by airports such as Auckland and Sydney.
Smaller domestic aircraft are paying only a few dollars, in no cases exceeding 6 US dollars.
Aiports Fiji Limited chief executive, Sakiusa Tuisolia, says a consultant will review all international and domestic landing fees, air navigation charges, as well as aero-bridge and parking levies top bring them in line with charges at comparable airports.
