An official of the Examinations Office in the Fiji Ministry of Education has been arrested in connection with the leak of the Fiji School Leaving Certificate Examination Papers last year.

The Director of Criminal Investigation, Assistant Superintendent, Emosi Vunisa, has told Fiji TV that the official will appear in court on charges of larceny and unauthorised disclosure of confidential information.

Teachers and students at several schools in the Suva/Nausori area will be the next to be questioned over the leak involving a mathematics paper.

Meanwhile, police have also begun investigations into their own force after money amounting to over 12 thousand US dollars believed to be proceeds of crime and seized from criminals, went missing.

The money was to have been presented in court as evidence against suspects.

A police officer at the Nadi station was also charged with a similar offence for taking several hundred dollars which was to have been a court exhibit last week.
