Report on Fiji coup investigations due this week

8:27 am on 3 February 2004

The report by two senior New Zealand police officers, who conducted a review of coup investigations in Fiji, will be submitted to that country's police commissioner, Andrew Hughes, this week.

The officers were asked to help Fiji police and go through all investigation files before making their final recommendation.

Mr. Hughes says the report will determine what action will be taken against those implicated in the coup.

Radio Fiji says he has also called for more evidence from people who are making allegations against people alleged to be involved.
