Four people involved on a brawl at a Cook Islands nightclub on New Year's Day have been jailed.
The Cook Islands News reports that Viliame Gukisuva, Daniel Ahau, and Wilfred Dauvous have jailed for six months for assault with intent to injure.
Gukisuva was also sentenced to additional two months on common assault charges.
A fourth defendant Teremoana Iakimo Junior was senntenced to nine months for assault with intent to injure.
A fifth person, Kris Kapi was convicted of assault and placed on 12 months probation.
Police had earlier been criticised for not stepping in and ending the brawl.
