The head of a Senate committee in American Samoa that's exposing widespread Government corruption is vowing to continue its inquiries, with or without funding.
The House of Representatives has rejected a bid by the Senate Select Investigative Committee for 150-thousand US dollars for its probe into alleged illegal practices within the Government.
The Senate committee chairman, Senator Lualemaga Faoa, says some members of the House don't like the inquiry, and he was not surprised by their decision.
But he says the work will continue.
"This will not stop the SSIC because the SSIC was established by law and it will go until the 28th Legislature is completed, and there is no way that this investigation is going to stop even without funds"
Senator Faoa says he is confident that the Senate President, Lutu Fuimaono, will find the funding.
He says up to 100-thousand US dollars is needed to translate amd transcribe evidence into English.
