The former governor of Guam, Carl Gutierrez, has pleaded guilty to criminal charges that he used more than sixty four thousand US dollars worth of government supplies and personnel to build his Uranao ranch.

Gutierrez was indicted at the end of December on charges of theft of property, theft of services and official misconduct.

In a separate case, Gutierrez pleaded not guilty to charges in connection with authorising the use of government funds to pay for thousands of private streetlights.
