The Fiji government is denying dumping unwanted public servants as diplomats at foreign missions.
The denial was in reference to the appointment of the former home affairs chief executive, Col Jeremaia Waqanisau, as ambassador to China after his fallout with the military when he opposed the re-appointment of Commodore Bainimarama as commander.
The head of the public service commission, Ratu Tui Cavulati, is being posted as ambassador to the European Union after he failed to be re-appointed to his post.
The minister for foreign affairs, Kaliopate Tavola, has told Fiji TV that there are some problems with some people but they still have a lot of expertise and experience.
Mr Tavola says Fiji is a small country with a small pool of talent which should not be neglected when it comes to diplomatic postings.
The Fiji government also appointed Ratu Inoke Kubuabola as High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea and Ratu Tevita Momoedonu as ambassador to Japan after they failed to win their seats in the 2001 post-coup general election.
