The chairman of American Samoa's Republican Party, Tautai Aviata Fano Fa'alevo says the party stilll plans to run a gubernatorial team during the Territory's 2004 general election
Earlier this year, the party's Executive Committee approved a ticket naming Tautai and Senator Te'o J. Fuavai after both had indicated their desire to run.
However, Te'o said this week that he is running as an indepent candidate.
Tautai said the party will still have a team for the gubernatorial race.
He will run for Governor and the candidate for Lt Governor will be named soon.
