The Cook Islands government is to set up a broadcasting corporation to review the future of the country's radio and television services.

The corporation will involve the government, the opposition and private sector representatives.

The move follows complaints about the use of radio and television by Elijah Communciations.

The government says it might also consider setting up a Cook Islands Press Council to monitor standards in the print media
