Tourist arrivals in Fiji in January went up by nearly 16-percent compared with the same month last year.
The Fiji Bureau of Statistics says sharp increases were recorded from the United States which went up by 33-percent, while arrivals from Australia increased 21-percent and New Zealand 34-percent.
Good increases were also recorded from Canada, Japan and South Korea.
Last year Fiji had its highest ever tourist arrivals totalling over 430-thousand, but the figures are expected to rise substantially this year.
