Fiji's Amalgamated Telecom Holdings is to begin building a multi-million dollar Information Technology Park to attract international data processing, call centre and data warehousing businesses.

The park will be built on a 7-hectare site next to the shore installations of the Southern Cross Cable and link directly to its high speed data transmission network.

ATH chief executive Lionel Yee says the aim is to create more jobs in Fiji and generate more revenue for the group.

The new Information Technology Park will be a tax free zone and target the United States financial services market.
