Four candidates have secured the required endorsements in Papua New Guinea to stand for the position of Governor General.
All four have also received knighthoods from the Queen.
They are Sir Paulias Matane, Sir Joseph Nombri, Sir Pato Kakaraya and Sir Albert Kipalan.
13 contenders initially put themselves forward, but only the four secured the backing of 15 MPs to be eligible as candidates.
Parliament will meet next Tuesday to vote for PNG's eighth governor-general.
Two elections for the position have already been nullified in the past six months because of voting irregularities.
