Former Papua New Guinea Prime Minister Sir Mekere Morauta, says he expects an announcement within days that his PNG Party has been accepted into the National Alliance led govenrment.
The PNG Party agreed last week it would join if asked and Sir Mekere says discussions he had yesterday (tues) with the National Alliance gave him the impression an invitation would come in the next few days.
He says his move, which would bring ten additional MPs into the Government, will end any chance of a vote of no confidence in Sir Michael Somare's Government.
"My responsibility is to ensure that the government we have in place is the one that I have confidence in to provide solutions to our problems. And Somare, in relation to the goverment that might be formed - I would rather have Somare than the other side"
