A report on HIV/Aids awareness in Solomon Islands says the use of drama is a good method of educating the community, where literacy level is low.

The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation says the Honiara Youth Drama Group and the Adolescent Reproductive Health Project recently used drama to educate people of two settlements in Honiara on HIV/Aids.

It says the settlements at the Mataniko River mouth were visited because of their vulnerability that associated with many factors including illiteracy and unemployment.

The report recommends the need for an aggressive approach by young people with a focus on HIV/Aids awareness.

It says more than 760 people from the two settlements, attended the drama sessions about HIV/Aids awareness.

The report says more settlements in Honiara will be visited in the future.
