American Samoan group on anti-corruption drive

3:40 pm on 23 June 2004

The American Samoan anti-corruption group, Common Cause, is calling on the people of the Territory to join them in their fight against government corruption.

The group has advertised a public meeting to be held tomorrow to rally support for their campaign to expose and eliminate government corruption.

The advertisement says "If you're tired of the waste, fraud and abuse of taxpayers money, if you're fed up with scandal after scandal and empty political promises, here's your chance to speak out and join other like-minded concerned citizens."

Common Cause says it needs public ideas and support, and to discuss issues and organize the fight against corruption.
