Solomons police call for soft approach to seize Sae

Solomon Islands police and those of the Regional Assistance Mission say they will not use force to capture the main suspect in the killing of former police Commissioner, Sir Frederick Soaki.

Police and national security minister, Michael Maina, has told parliament the police will use peaceful means in their attempts to capture former police sergeant Edmond Sae.

Sae has been on the run since the fatal shooting of Sir Frederick in the Malaita provincial capital, Auki, last year.

RAMSI police have called on Sae to give himself up to the authorities.
