Air Tahiti Nui announces new board

The French Polynesian carrier, Air Tahiti Nui, has hired its former chief executive, Nelson Levy, as a board member.

Mr Levy joins on the board the head of the domestic carrier, Air Tahiti, Christian Vernaudon, who will work for the board without remuneration and Richard Hall, who is the former manager of Air New Zealand's operations in Papeete.

The new chief executive of Air Tahiti Nui is Patrick Leboucher who is also the head of cabinet in the new administration led by Oscar Temaru.

According to the Tahitipresse news agency the new Air Tahiti Nui team says its priority is to set up air links with New York and Sydney next year.
