Solomon Islands opposition still discussing new leadership

10:51 am on 9 July 2004

The Solomon Islands Parliamentary Opposition is yet to decide on a new leader following the resignation of the previous leader, John Garo, who joined the government last week.

A spokesperson from the Opposition office says opposition MPs are still in consultation.

The Opposition lost two members when John Garo and Peter Boyers both joined the Kemakeza government last week.

Mr Garo has since been sworn in as the Minister of State Assisting the Prime Minister.
