The threat of fifteen of Samoa's petrol stations closing down has been averted after the Samoa Service Stations association and a special government committee met to discuss profit margins.
The Association's secretary, Amituana'i Faleulu Mauli, says the government has agreed to consider their concerns.
Earlier in the week, the Association said they were entitled to a fifteen per cent profit margin on the wholesale price of petroleum products.
They said the present seven per cent markup, set by the government, did not meet their operating costs.
