Solomon Islands Prime Minister, Sir Allen Kemakeza, has sacked his national reform and planning minister, Nollen Leni.
Sir Allen is reported to have fired Mr Leni just before he departed for Port Moresby yesterday afternoon.
The Prime Minister's office has yet to announce the sacking.
No official reasons are known for the sacking, although it is understood Mr Leni was one of ten ministers and backbenchers who had threatened to remove their support for the coalition government led by Sir Allen.
It is also understood two other ministers and backbenchers holding executive positions are to be removed.
The two parties forming the coalition government have reiterated their solidarity despite the sacking.
