Delegates make their way home after the ninth Pacific Festival of Arts in Palau

7:00 am on 2 August 2004

Delegates are making their way home following the closing ceremony of the ninth Pacific Festival of Arts.

Visitors came to witness the event that was hosted for the first time in the northern Pacific.

Sara Vui-Talitu was there:

"Heavy rain during the last days of the festival in the capital saw the closing ceremony relocated indoors. About 2000 people packed out the local gym in colourful traditional fashion to thank the host country. Organisers estimated over 6000 people visited events over the past 10 days, which aimed to nurture, regenerate and celebrate indigenous art and culture. And American Samoa received the festival flag, as they'll host the next one in Pago Pago, in 2008. In Koror Palau, Im Sara VuiTalitu."
