Strikes continue in New Caledonia

New Caledonia continues to be hit by a raft of strikes by the USTKE union.

International flights have been affected as wildcat strikes which have also caused problems on the motorway toll boths west of Noumea.

The latest disruptions follows a port strike over fears of job losses at one of the stevedoring companies, Manutrans.

Last Thursday, police broke up a blockade at the port following a court order.
