The New Zealand parliamentary secretary for trade says the Trade Mission to Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Guam has been a successful.

Luamanuvao Winnie Laban took charge of the delegation after the stop in Fiji because the Trade Negotiations Minister Jim Sutton had to leave for a WTO meeting in Geneva.

Luamanuvao says the 16 delegates were all positive about the outcomes of various meetings with local business and political leaders.

"We've scored from the business community on this mission, three million New Zealand dollars worth of business and there's more to come over the next three months but also in the year to come because some of these relationships have just started. That's a really good score considering we've just been to Papua New Guinea, Fiji and Guam in the space of 10 days."
