Construction firm not pulling out of American Samoa

The construction company Fulton Hogan is not leaving American Samoa, after earlier announcements it was closing down at the end of July.

After a review of its operations last week, including a visit by Chief Executive Officer, Lindsay Crossen, the company will keep some staff in the territory.

Local Branch Manager Andrew Johnson said the decision followed discussions with government agencies, assessing market opportunities and an operational review.

Mr Johnson says they will provide complimentary services to local contractors, primarily in the area of asphalt paving and bitumen sealing.
