Officials promote trade between Samoas

10:30 am on 12 August 2004

Two officials of the Samoa Manufacturers and Exporters Association are in the territory to promote a joint Samoa-American Samoa trade Fair to be held in Pago Pago.

The officials have paid a courtesy call to the Governor's Office, and held meetings with the Department of Commerce, Chamber of Commerce and the two canneries.

The Chairman of the Trade Development Committee for the Samoa Manufacturers and Exporters Association, Eddie Wilson, says the October fair will be the the first since 1996.

"I know that our government and the American Samoan government are also having official talks and plan for trade and investment promotion between the two countries."

And so naturally we thought that a trade sale of goods manufactured and made in Apia as well as here, would be a good opportunity to showcase, where investment and trade can be further developed, amongst the two Samoas.
