Officials in both Samoas are hoping a planned trade fair will boost economic co-operation.

American Samoa's Commerce Department director, Ali'imau Scanlan and Samoa's Manufacturers Association Trade Mission Delegation head, Grant Percival, decided to hold a trade fair in October in the territory.

Ali'imau says the territory's business community will be invited to the trade fair to view products manufactured in Samoa.

He says the two Samoas are now at a point where they depend on each other for economic development in key areas such as tourism, air and ocean transportation plus other future endeavors.
