Samoa's opposition Democratic United Party claims the country's candidates lost out on two international posts because the Prime Minister's manner alienated regional leaders.
The opposition leader, Le Mamea Ropati, said Dr. Pa'o Luteru was the most qualified Pacific Islands candidate for nomination to the post of secretary-general of the African, Caribbean and Pacific group.
But, after the end of the Pacific islands Forum summit, regional leaders voted for Papua New Guinea's candidate, Sir John Kaputin.
Dr. Luteru is currently the ACP's assistant secretary-general.
Le Mamea believes that by praising Samoa's economic and other achievements, the Prime Minister, Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi, belittled other Pacific nations.
