Fiji's Vijay Singh has won golf's final major of the year US PGA championship, at Whistling Straights in Wisconsin, following a three hole play-off.

Dmitri Edwards reports....

"Singh struggled during regulation with a four over par 76. However, he parred the 18th to tie for the lead with Americans Chris Dimarco and Justin Leonard. Lautoka-born Singh unleashed a huge drive on the first of three play-off holes to par four tenth, coolly converting his birdie while his opponents could only produce parred. The following play-off holes were shared, leaving Singh as the PGA champion for the second time, his fifth title on the PGA tour this year. The win will mean the American Tiger Woods' record equalling 331 weeks as number one will end when the official world rankings are released tomorrow."
