More reshuffling in Tonga's Cabinet

There have been further reshuffles within the Tongan Government Cabinet.

The Prime Minister, Ulukalala Lavaka Ata, has given up his Foreign Affairs portfolio, though he will continue as Defence Minister.

A government statement says the King has appointed a lifelong civil servant to take over as foreign minister.

The latest change comes a week after three cabinet ministers were sacked reportedly because they disagreed with the Government's new aviation policy.

It had decided that the country would be served by just one new domestic airline in the wake of the collapse of Royal Tongan.

The favoured airline, Peau Vava'u, flying a 60 year old DC3, includes Crown Prince Tupouto'a among its shareholders.
