The Guadalcanal provincial police commander in the Solomon Islands, Peter Oriensaka, says six people have been arrested following unrest in the province.
The six arrested and charged were among ten people who were taken into custody in Honiara last week, for allegedly burning houses and harrassing residents.
Peter Oriensaka says they are still trying to establish whether other offences had occurred, and more investigation is needed.
"There are about four charges being laid against certain offenders for malicious damages, one for arson and two for store breakings for those arrested. 18"
