A senior police officer in the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force has been arrested and charged with kidnapping.
Superintendent Nela Mosese, the former Director of the Criminal Investigation Division was arrested yesterday in Honiara and charged with kidnapping, abduction, larceny and going armed in public.
He appeared before the magistrates court and has been given bail and will reappear on October 1.
Mosese will be amongst eight superintendents who have now been charged with various offences.
Commissioner of Police, William Morrell, recently revealed there are 400 outstanding cases against police officers.
