Fiji begins a week of national reconciliation and forgiveness ceremonies today aimed at uniting the country and healing the divisions caused by the coup.
With a budget of over 410-thousand US dollars, the week will begin with a march and an apology ceremony in Suva.
It will include extensive daylong prayers and religious programmes throughout Fiji, fasting by individuals, flag raising ceremonies, cultural shows and community displays.
The Prime Minister, who is also minister for national reconciliation, Laisenia Qarase, and Fiji's president, Ratu Josefa Iloilo, will be present at many of these events which will end next Monday.
President Iloilo has already asked people who were hurt and wronged in the coup to forgive those responsible.
The Fiji Labour Party says it will boycott all events because they are not genuinely in the interest of reconciliation.
Labour MP, Poseci Bune, says the coup front man, George Speight, should reveal who planned the coup, who took part and who funded it.
