Norfolk Island holds elections

Results of elections on Norfolk Island are expected to be declared today.

Two thirds of the sitting members of the Legislative Assembly are seeking re-election.

Nearly 90 per cent of the island's 1,332 registered voters have cast their ballots.

The Chief minister Geoff Gardner and speaker David Buffett are among those up for re-election in a field of 14 candidates.

The Australian territory has a population of about 1,800 people
