An American Samoan woman is representing herself at a drug trial, underway in Honolulu.

Arieta Yamaguchi is accused of redistributing and selling crack cocaine using other Samoans as runners in a Honolulu drug operation.

She was charged along with six others, one of whom has since died, and another four of whom have reached plea agreements with the government.

They are expected to testify for the prosecution.

Yamaguchi and her remaining co-accused, Lilo Fa'afiti, have been in jail without bail, since their arrest two years ago.

Their trial is expected to take two weeks.
