The Solomon Island Prime Minister Sir Allen Kemakeza has condemned an attack on a Regional Assistance Mission vehicle in Honiara last night.
Shots were fired at the vehicle in the Lungga area in East Honiara.
There were no reports of injuries.
Sir Allen says the government regrets that despite the splendid work carried out by RAMSI over the past 14 months there are some people trying to undermine its work.
He says RAMSI is in the country at the invitation of the government to help develop a lasting peace after five years of darkness.
Sir Allen says the shooting is the first such incident since RAMSI arrived and he is calling for public assistance to find the attackers.
