Public booklet sparks Suva diplomatic row

A major row has broken out between Fiji's foreign ministry and Suva-based foreign diplomats over their security.

Fiji TV reports that this follows the ministry's release of a public booklet detailing the names and addresses of all foreign missions in Suva.

The booklet also contains the names of all foreign diplomats, their spouses and partners and their home addresses as well as telephone numbers.

In one case, a diplomat is even listed at living with his male partner.

Foreign diplomats in Suva have been outraged and fear the public release of such details will make them potential targets for terrorists looking for an easy country in which to carry out their attacks.
